To all the moms out there, I just want to share that this motherhood journey is never easy. As a wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend and more, I have lots of competing interests and I need to learn to balance them all. And that’s really tough.
Whenever we go out for dinner as a family we don’t use our gadgets. I have noticed earlier on when my twins were just about 3 years old, it was becoming a bad habit because every time we sat down for a meal while waiting for the food to arrive, they would ask for our phones so that they can be entertained. After realizing the unhealthy lifestyle we were fostering, I decided to nip it in the bud and told them there would be no more gadgets whenever we go out for a meal. I told them that we should spend time together as a family, talking and getting to know each other better.
Our society has changed so much over the years and over many generations. My mom used to tell me that they didn’t have any disposable diapers back in her days and she needed to use hands to wash all the soiled and wet diapers to look after us. In case you are wondering, there weren’t any washing machines back then as well. When it came to breastfeeding, there were no breastfeeding pumps either. It was either direct latching or hand express.
