Does my baby hate sleep?⁣

Does My Baby Hate Sleep

If you have caught yourself saying “my baby hates sleep”, then your baby is most likely crying when they go to sleep or they’re refusing to go to sleep at all, perhaps napping for a short duration or waking very frequently overnight.⁣

Let me assure you your baby does not hate sleep. Baby is incapable of hating because it’s a very mature emotion.⁣

So when you see your baby refusing to go to sleep it really can only mean one thing. Your baby is frustrated because they don’t know how to put themselves to sleep easily. They want to sleep but they just don’t know how!⁣

So our job as parents isn’t to help them fall asleep but our job is to teach them independent sleep skills ie the art of self-settling and fostering healthy sleep habits for them. What does fostering healthy sleep habits mean?⁣

It means following my 5 steps system to a better night’s sleep.⁣

It means putting your baby down to sleep before your baby gets overtired and that definitely means establishing a good routine. ⁣
