Hi! I’m Grace.
When my son Aidan was born, my friend noticed the two crowns on his head and she wished me good luck. It is believed that babies with double crowns are very “mischievous”. Not only was he mischievous, he was also very active.
Due to Covid, I went through pregnancy and birth alone, as my husband was based overseas and was unable to return back to Malaysia. Motherhood journey started out rough for me, from recovering after a caesarian operation to breastfeeding problems, and two weeks after birth I had mastitis which turned out to be MRSA infection.
Despite having help from my mother, I continued to struggle when I went back to work. I was nursing Aidan to sleep at 18 months and he was always waking up 2-3 times at night just wanting to be nursed back to sleep and would even refuse his pacifier. Sleep deprivation is getting real, my mood and temper was off and I did not like who I was becoming. My friend told me to look into sleep training, and I tried one night by myself and gave up, because I felt really clueless if I was doing the right thing.
One day I came across Sleep Supernanny’s profile through an instagram follower (Roxanne Gan). She sought help from Zoe on managing her 2 months old baby’s sleep back then and I immediately reached out to Zoe for help. Despite the exchange rate, I engaged Zoe immediately after speaking to her and up til today, it was the best investment and decision I have made for my family and my sanity.
Although there were tears involved, to me, it was short term pain for a long term gain. For a strong-willed boy like Aidan, he was sleeping through the night by the first week itself, and eventually we nailed down on getting him to sleep independently for bedtime and nap time. Not only Zoe has been very encouraging but her 5 steps system has taught me a lot about the science of sleep in babies and toddlers which I found very useful even after our support has ended. Without this knowledge, I would probably think Aidan is a hyperactive child who would need behavior therapy.
It was an immediate YES from me when Zoe asked me to join her Dream Team. Sleep is so important for both parents and baby, and it is never too late to start fostering healthy sleep habits. Sleep training was life changing for me, I am a happier and healthier mother to Aidan and knowing he has proper sleep every night gave me comfort. I am excited to be on this journey in helping mothers (and fathers) out there, to know they have an alternative than to continue with sleep deprivation.

Baby not sleeping
through the night?
